The Lebanese American Society of Tampa Bay ( LAS Tampa) was founded on April 14, 2006 for charitable, cultural and educational purposes. Primarily, the organization seeks to provide cultural and educational programs and events for general public. LAS – Tampa's objective is providing an open atmosphere for people interested in learning about the Lebanese culture, customs, history and language through cultural and educational workshops, seminars and other events.

On July 28, the International Red Cross called for an immediate fund of 70 Million Euro (about $ 90 Million) for Humanitarian aid in Lebanon. The Lebanese American Society at Tampa Bay (LAS-Tampa) is working with several local and international institutes to help in fund raising. LAS will dedicate a full year of work in Tampa Bay, organizing and working on events that help humanitarian and relieving efforts in Lebanon.
